The PravoJustice4EU Program, implemented by Expertise France (EF) with funding from the European Union and the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, supports Ukrainian authorities in the continued reform and strengthening of the justice sector.
PravoJustice4EU is structured around two specific objectives: supporting the EU accession process by aligning the Ukrainian justice system with EU standards, including independence, efficiency, quality, integrity, transparency and access to justice; and supporting accountability for core international crimes in line with European and international standards while fostering a holistic transitional justice approach.
Within this framework, the Program will continue to strengthen the institutional capacity of justice-sector bodies contributing to effective rule-of-law implementation, including judicial governance bodies and the bodies responsible for the selection of judges and members of judicial governance bodies.
The Project supports the Ethics Council in the selection of new members of the High Council of Justice (HCJ), the Selection Commission in the selection of inspectors of the Service of Disciplinary Inspectors (SDI) of the HCJ, the Selection Commission in the selection of new members of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine (HQCJ), the Expert Council in the selection of SDAC and SAAC judges, and the Advisory Group of Experts in the assessment of candidates for judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine (CCU) (together, the "selection bodies"). This support contributes to meeting the interim benchmarks under Chapter 23 (Judiciary and Fundamental Rights) of Ukraine's EU accession negotiations.
The selection bodies work under strict deadlines, handle large volumes of documents and maintain regular contact with candidates, state bodies and the public. The Administrative Assistant will provide day-to-day administrative, operational and translation support to a selection body and its Secretariat, so that procedures run smoothly, communication is timely and documents are properly registered, stored and dispatched.
