Expertise France is the French public agency for international cooperation, which implements projects aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and France’s external action priorities. Its core mission is to support partner countries in enhancing the quality of public policies to address complex environmental, social, economic and security challenges.
The VET4JOB-II Programme, funded by the European Union Delegation to Türkiye, aims to support skills development for refugees and host communities in Türkiye. The programme provides vocational and apprenticeship training in 14 target provinces to improve employment prospects in line with labour market demands.
The internship will provide practical exposure to the implementation and management of an EU-funded technical cooperation programme. The intern will support programme activities while gaining experience in project implementation, monitoring and evaluation, planning, communication, coordination and operational support.
Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
· Be enrolled as a student in a recognised educational institution.
· Be able to provide a mandatory tripartite internship agreement (convention de stage) signed by the student, the educational institution and Expertise France.
· Hold a valid residence permit allowing them to reside in Türkiye for the duration of the internship.
· Demonstrate a strong interest and hold a master degree in international relations/cooperation, vocational education and training, employment, social cohesion, peace and conflict studies, or related fields.
· Have good organisational, analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work in a multicultural team.
· Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Turkish and/or French in a strong asset.
The six-month internship will combine ongoing operational support with structured technical assignments and exposure to programme management functions. Tasks will be planned in coordination with the relevant component leads and support teams, taking into account programme priorities and the intern’s learning objectives.
The internship will be organised around three complementary areas:
· Operational exposure: regular support to programme activities, events, documentation and coordination processes.
· Technical assignments: substantive contributions to outcome monitoring and at least one analytical assessment of a selected programme component, focusing on implementation progress, emerging outcomes, challenges and lessons learned.
· Programme management exposure: participation in planning and monitoring discussions, providing insight into how technical, financial, procurement and administrative functions contribute to programme delivery.
A structured rotation or assignment system may be used to facilitate exposure to different programme functions while ensuring continuity in the delivery of assigned tasks.
The intern will work under the functional supervision of the relevant manager or technical expert responsible for the assigned tasks. The Deputy Team Leader will act as the intern’s overall reference supervisor, ensuring coordination across programme components, monitoring the internship’s progress and learning objectives, and providing overall guidance and feedback.
Regular check-ins will be organised with the Deputy Team Leader and, as appropriate, the relevant managers to review progress, provide feedback and adjust assignments in line with programme priorities and the internship’s learning objectives.
At the end of the internship, the intern will prepare one overall report summarising the activities and contributions undertaken, achievements, challenges encountered and key learnings from the six-month placement.
The internship is expected to last six (6) months, with a tentative starting date of 16 November 2026. The starting date is subject to the completion of the recruitment and internship agreement formalities.
Interested candidates should submit their application by 5 November 2026. Applications should include:
· A CV.
· A short cover letter outlining the candidate’s motivation and relevant interests or experience.
· Confirmation of student enrolment and the ability to obtain a tripartite internship agreement.
Only applications meeting the eligibility requirements will be considered. The tentative starting date is 16 November 2026.
This is a paid internship. The internship will be based in Ankara, Türkiye, and will be carried out in accordance with the applicable internship agreement and Expertise France procedures.
