The TAKATUF Project, implemented by Expertise France and funded by AFD, supports institutional development, capacity building, and policy dialogue activities across Jordan. As part of its implementation, the project organizes a wide range of activities, including training sessions, workshops, conferences, consultations, focus group discussions, awareness-raising activities, field visits, and high-level stakeholder meetings involving government representatives, civil society organizations, international partners, and beneficiaries.

To ensure effective communication and the production of high-quality project documentation, the project requires professional French translation and interpretation services on an ad hoc basis throughout the duration of the project.

French is the primary language of this assignment. The required language services will involve translation and interpretation between French and Arabic, and between French and English, in both directions, depending on the requirements of each assignment.

The required written translation services may cover technical reports, training materials, communication and visibility products, presentations, surveys, studies, official correspondence, contractual documents, meeting materials, and other project-related documents.

Interpretation services may be required during meetings, workshops, conferences, trainings, consultations, field visits, and other project activities organized in various locations across Jordan, particularly in Amman, Jerash, and Karak.

The selected consultant will be expected to facilitate communication between French-speaking participants and Arabic- and/or English-speaking participants, ensuring accurate, clear, culturally appropriate, and contextually relevant communication.

Given the varying nature, frequency, and volume of assignments, Expertise France seeks to contract a qualified individual consultant with demonstrated professional experience in French translation and interpretation and the ability to work effectively between French and Arabic and between French and English.

The selected consultant shall be available to respond to both planned and urgent requests while maintaining a high standard of linguistic accuracy, professionalism, confidentiality, neutrality, and consistency in terminology.

The purpose of this Terms of Reference is to identify and contract a qualified French translator and interpreter to support the TAKATUF Project's operational, communication, coordination, and documentation needs throughout the contract period.
