Embedded in a team of international and local experts, the Project's translator/interpreter will conduct the following main tasks:
» Written translation from English to B/C/S and from B/C/S to English of all relevant documentation;
» Oral consecutive and simultaneous interpretation from English to B/C/S and from B/C/S to English of events such as: Official and unofficial meetings with beneficiaries and any other stakeholder, Project steering committee meetings, discussions, conferences, workshops, etc.
In addition to these main tasks, the Project Translator/interpreter may be asked to draft meeting minutes and other tasks related to the project, upon request of his/her supervisors.
As part of it's ongoing support to judicial independence and integrity, and fight against corruption in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the European Union has mandated Expertise France to implement a technical assistance project aimed at monitoring and supporting the esatblishment and operationalisation of a new Department in charge of verifying assets and interest declarations of judges, prosecutors, and membes of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH. The EMOBiH project started operations on the 7th of July with the deployment of international staff.
The primary aim of EMOBiH project is to guarantee that the asset declaration system functions efficiently, without bias, and in complete adherence to legal standards, by concentrating on :
Qualifications and experience:
- University degree in applied language or language and civilisation in English or equivalent;
- C2 level in English and B/C/S mandatory;
- Conference interpretation diploma or equivalent, an asset;
- At least 3-year experience of simultaneous and consecutive interpretation for international projects or equivalent;
- At least 2-year experience in justice related assignments, an asset;
Professional skills:
- Excellent oral and writing skills;
- Excellent knowledge of judicial vocabulary and
- Knowledge of BiH justice institutional framework;
- Good knowledge of computer and communications tools (word, excel, powerpoint, etc.);
- Excellent coordination and teamwork skills – in particular in a multicultural context;
