Mission description

Expertise France is seeking a motivated and versatile intern to support the team managing the EU-LAC Digital Accelerator project, funded by the European Union and implemented by a consortium of 9 partners from Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). The position is based in Paris, at Expertise France's headquarters, for a duration of 6 months.

This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in project management within an international cooperation context, while being exposed to practical open innovation challenges between Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

The intern will assist the project team in administrative, financial, logistical, and operational aspects, and will also participate in managing client databases (CRM) and activities related to the innovation ecosystem.

Project or context description

The EU-LAC Digital Accelerator program, funded by the European Union, aims to promote sustainable economic and technological partnerships between the European Union and Latin America / the Caribbean (LAC) by supporting innovation projects from companies.

The objective is to strengthen collaboration among corporates, startups, investors, and innovation support institutions around common innovation challenges in high-potential technological sectors.

Over a 5-year period, the project offers personalized support to collaborative projects through:

·       Assisting in the creation of joint ventures and technological partnerships between companies from both regions

·       Providing acceleration services to develop, test, and enhance joint projects

·       Engaging technical and financial partners at each stage of the process

The project is implemented by a consortium of 9 European and Latin American partners, coordinated by TECNALIA, a leading technology center based in Spain, responsible for project management and coordination with the European Commission.

The consortium comprises four European partners:

·       Expertise France: the French public agency for international technical cooperation, notably leading components related to the innovation ecosystem in France and supporting the structuring of partnerships (open innovation, business matching, co-acceleration).

·       IESE: a leading business school based in Spain with a presence in numerous LAC countries. As a non-profit organization, its mission is to create a positive impact on society by supporting entrepreneurship and innovation.

·       EBN (European Business and Innovation Centre Network): a pan-European network of innovation actors, dedicated to regional economic development and accelerating innovative startups and SMEs.

·       EBAN (European Business Angels Network): representing early-stage investors across Europe, EBAN brings together over 100 organizations in more than 50 countries, promoting a culture of responsible investment.

And three partners based in Latin America:

·       WAYRA: an innovation hub launched by Telefónica, Wayra connects tech startups with large corporations, investors, and institutions to accelerate their development.

·       Caribbean Export: a regional agency for trade and investment promotion in the Caribbean, supporting local businesses in their economic transformation and internationalization.

·       OCTANTIS: a pioneering Chilean accelerator in entrepreneurial innovation, co-responsible for deploying acceleration services and facilitating joint ventures between European and Latin American companies.

Finally, TECNALIA Ventures, TECNALIA's specialized subsidiary, acts as the main operational partner for acceleration services and the project's sustainability strategy.

The internship will take place within a dynamic and committed team, with frequent interactions with European and Latin American partners.

Required profile

1.       Database and CRM Management (Monday tool)

o   Updating and structuring stakeholder databases (corporates, startups, innovation ecosystems)

o   Monitoring and enriching the CRM (clients, partners, leads)

o   Regular reporting to the project team

2.       Administrative and Financial Support

o   Preparing payment orders (BAP), archiving supporting documents

o   Basic budget tracking (Excel entries, verifying expense lines)

o   Assisting in audit preparation (document classification, compliance)

3.       Logistical and Event Support

o   Assisting in organizing international missions and events (reservations, liaising with service providers, per diem management, on-site logistics)

o   Supporting logistics for workshops, meetings, or occasional events

4.       Operational Contributions

o   Participating in activities related to the innovation ecosystem (targeted research, preparing materials, benchmarking)

o   Supporting sectoral and technological monitoring on EU-LAC innovation

o   Assisting in formatting documents (reports, meeting minutes, presentations)

Additional information

Additional information on ideal profile

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree (Bac+3 to Bac+5) in project management, international affairs, innovation, political science, business school, engineering, or any other relevant field
  • Strong interest in international cooperation, open innovation, and digital transformation
  • Good adaptability, autonomy, rigor, and team spirit
  • Comfortable in a dynamic environment, interacting with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, organizational skills
  • Proficiency in office tools, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in French and English is essential (Spanish is appreciated)
  • Starting date : ideally June 2025
