The role of the expert(s) will be to support and reinforce the capacity of the Greek authorities to ensure emergency prevention, preparedness and response, and climate change adaptation. Expertise is required in one or more of the following fields:

The Greek authorities have committed to continue the reform in the area of civil protection, to enhance the country’s resilience, disaster preparedness, and response capabilities.
To support this reform, Greece has requested assistance from the Directorate General for Structural Reform Support (DG REFORM) of the European Commission.
This project led by Expertise France provides technical support with the purpose of strengthening the National Crisis and Hazard Management Mechanism (Nat-CHAMM) to facilitate coordinated response, improving regional capacities, resilience building and recovery. Implementation of the Project contributes to the ongoing reform of the civil protection mechanism in Greece.
A Project Team composed of several experts will be in charge of implementing the technical support, under the coordination of Expertise France headquarters in Paris and its office in Athens.
To this end, Expertise France is currently looking for short-term and medium-term experts in the above fields.
Qualifications and skills
· University Degree (preferably at postgraduate level) in Business Administration, Science or Engineering fields, Information Technology, Law, Economics, Social sciences, or any other field relevant to the assignment. In the absence of such degree, at least 10 years of professional experience in relevant domains.
· Fluency in written and spoken English. Fluency in Greek is an asset.
· Proven analytical, research and reporting abilities.
Professional experience
General professional experience
· Minimum 7 years of postgraduate professional experience in international and/or national level relevant to the assignment, or minimum 3 years for candidates applying for junior expert positions.
Specific professional experience
· Involvement in the implementation of minimum 1 similar assignment.
· Knowledge of the local context in Cyprus and experience in working with the Greek administration is an asset.
