Mission description

Main Responsibilities :

1. Project Support :
•    Assist the pharmaceutical expert in monitoring and managing projects related to regulatory strengthening, combating counterfeit medicines, and supporting national pharmaceutical policies.
•    Contribute to projects aimed at strengthening R&D capabilities for new health products and pharmaceutical training programs.
•    Assist in implementing projects that support partner countries' strategies for access to essential health products, such as vaccines and blood products.
•    Ensure monitoring of funding opportunities for projects aimed at strenghtening access to health products and participate in the development of new proposals.

2. Community Management on Access to health products topics :
•    Establish and manage a community of practice within the department on access to health products topics.
•    Promote knowledge and experience sharing among department members and external partners.
•    Organize meetings, webinars, and workshops to exchange best practices and advancements in the field.


3. Scientific communication :
•    Contribute to internal and external scientific communication on topics related to access to health products.
•    Prepare presentations and scientific communication materials for events and meetings.

Project or context description

Expertise France is an international cooperation agency for development aid, operating under the French government. The Health Department of Expertise France is involved in various projects aimed at improving access to health products in low-resource countries, particularly in Africa. To strengthen our team and support the pharmaceutical expert in charge of access to health products. 

We are seeking a bilingual (English and French) public health pharmacy intern.

Required profile

Education :
•    Master’s student in pharmaceutical sciences focused on public health policies in low-resource countries
Skills :
•    Knowledge of health systems and issues related to access to health products in low-resource countries.
•    Excellent writing and communication skills.
•    Proficiency in computer tools and project management software.
•    Bilingual in English and French, as most projects target anglophone areas and partners.

Personal Qualities :
•    Rigor and organization.
•    Analytical and synthesis skills.
•    Autonomy and proactivity.
•    Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.

Experience and Knowledge of Partners :
•    Familiarity with development aid partners such as the Global Fund, Unitaid, Medicines Patent Pool, and GAVI.
•    Good knowledge of WHO support strategies for access to health products in Africa.

Additional information

Conditions :
•    Full-time 6-month internship.
•    Internship allowance according to current regulations.
•    Partial reimbursement of transportation costs.
