Mission description

Under supervision of Administrative and Financial Manager, the Financial Assistant is responsible for:

  • Prepare payment orders in accordance with applicable thresholds and follow-up procedures
  • Track and reconcile bank statements
  • Update financial spreadsheets with daily transactions
  • Provide administrative support during budget preparation
  • Data entry and preparation of documents for further hierarchical approval and processing in accounting and project management software
  • Petty cash management
  • Support in internal and external audit process
  • Participation in financial compliance procedures
  • Archiving of financial documents (contracts, invoices, acts of acceptance)
  • Other relevant administrative and financial tasks

Project or context description

Expertise France (EF) is the French government operator of international assistance projects, which presence in Ukraine has recently been strengthened. EF is implementing several projects, notably the EU Project Pravo-Justice, aimed to promote greater rule of law in Ukraine, in line with European standards and comparative practices, the "mAIDan" project, in close coordination with the French Embassy in Kyiv, with the aim of mobilizing French technical assistance to support Ukraine in addressing the emergency and preparing for reconstruction and the EU accession process. The agency is also supporting several health partners through the project APPUI Health and health program named the Initiative dedicated to the fight against HIV and tuberculosis.

Required profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a related field;
  • At least one year of experience supporting payments, financial procedures and compliance, preferably within the context of a technical assistance project;
  • Good budget tracking and budget analysis skills (proficiency in Excel required);
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • High degree of organization, attention to detail, and ability to multitask;
  • Fluency in written and spoken Ukrainian, at least B1 for English.
  • Interpersonal and stakeholder management skills,
  • A high degree of initiative, diplomacy and problem-solving,
  • Outstanding emotional intelligence skills,
  • A creative and entrepreneurial approach to overcoming barriers and making change happen
